“And then come Saturday the lads will be ready have all the information they need of how we want to play and what we need to do to hopefully get the victory and roll on Saturday”
This Saturday its the Emirates FA Cup at the Neuven Stadium as we welcome EVO-STIK Premier side Stalybridge Celtic in the First Qualifying Round.
Radcliffe are in fantastic form, top of the table after a 3-0 win over Colwyn Bay last Saturday, we made it 5 straight wins in all Competitions with only 1 goal conceded and are in great shape ahead of the tie against higher league opposition. There was also a new signing this week with striker Raul Correia re-joining The Boro from Barrow to add to the attacking threat.
Stalybridge had a unbeaten August, but lost their last two games. A defeat last Saturday at Stafford Rangers 2-0 and a home 1-0 defeat to South Shields. They sit 13th in the EVO-STIK Premier table. They also made a few signings in the last week. Chris Sharp a striker from Curzon Ashton, Steve Irwin from FC United and James Aspinall a goalkeeper on loan from Bolton Wanderers.
There have been 3 competitive meetings since 1988, The last was a Manchester Premier Cup Semi Final in 2016 where Stalybridge won 3-1. We have never met in the FA Cup before. Radcliffe haven’t progressed past this round since 2011. Where as Stalybridge haven’t lost at this stage since 1990.
