Kendal Calling

By Matthew Jones

A Preview of our next game as we head to Cumbria to face Kendal.

“We can’t just look out and hope other teams are going to beat other title contenders, we just look at every game that’s coming up, we prepare, we do our homework, we get a game plan and we stick to it then hopefully, we’ll do enough” Jon Macken

With just 9 games left of the season with everything to play for it’s a visit to second from bottom Kendal where three points are a must in the battle for promotion as The Boro took a chunk out of the gap to the leaders last Saturday.

The Form
Radcliffe Have won Three of the last Six games with one draw and have started to pick up form again at a vital stage of the season. Last match for The Boro was a 2-1 win against Droylsden on Saturday where Kingsley Williams and a Ben Wharton penalty sealed three points.

Kendal Have won two of the last six games and sit 19th inside the relegation zone four points from safety. Their last game was a 1-0 defeat at bottom of the table Skelmersdale United on Tuesday night. They recently changed management and like the boro are desperate for points on Saturday.

Last Meetings:
2017/18 Kendal 2-3 Radcliffe FC
2017/18 Kendal 2-1 Radcliffe FC (FA Trophy)
2016/17 Kendal 1-1 Radcliffe FC
2015/16 Kendal 3-2 Radcliffe FC
2014/15 Kendal 4-1 Radcliffe FC
2013/14 Kendal 5-1 Radcliffe FC

Macken’s side cut the gap from top spot to just four points, and the gaffer is wanting the winning desire to continue.
“As I’ve always said, there is a lot of games to be played,” he said, speaking to RadcliffeTV. People are going to slip up at certain times, so we’re just worrying about ourselves. We can only affect what we do at the end of the day.

We can’t just look out and hope other teams are going to beat other title contenders, we just look at every game that’s coming up, we prepare, we do our homework, we get a game plan and we stick to it then hopefully, we’ll do enough."

Another big game as well as the other eight to go after this, its a 3pm Kick Off on Saturday the stadium address is ST&B Accountants Stadium, Parkside Road, Kendal, LA9 7BL.
