Tunde Owolabi nominated for League Award

By Matthew Jones

Radcliffe's Tunde Owolabi nominated for league supporters player of the year.

“All i can say is thank you to all who voted and to my teammates as without them this wouldn't have been possible” Tunde Owolabi

We delighted to hear that Tunde Owolabi has been nominated for the NPL Show Supporters Player of the season. He has been shortlisted along with four other players.
Chris Almond of Prescot Cables, Alistair Waddecar of Bamber Bridge, Nathan Watson of Basford United and Joe Lumsden of Tadcaster Albion.

Owolabi has scored so far 21 goals for the club with 12 assists in 38 games in all competitions and is currently the second top scorer in the EVO-STIK West division.

Tunde joins Elliot Rokka and Nick Culkin from Radcliffe who have previously been nominated for awards at the event. Elliot Rokka was 2nd in 2017 by just 16 votes, but did take home the Young Player of the year award. Nick Culkin was nominated in the very first awards night that took place in 2012 and was 5th in the voting for this award but came away with being the goalkeeper in the team of the year.

The awards take place at the Holiday Inn, Barnsley on Sunday 7th April and will be revealed on the night. Accrington Stanley manager John Coleman and his assistant Jimmy Bell will be the special guests for this year’s awards. Keep an eye on the league and our social media pages for the latest news from the evening. The other awards on the night include Player of the Year, Young Player of the Year and Team of the Year.

Voting for the award has now opened and will be open right up until awards night on the Sunday via this link :https://www.surveymonkey.co.uk/r/GFMF7H3 where you will be able to vote for Tunde where we hope he becomes the 3rd Radcliffe player to come away with a league award since it first started in 2012.

Tunde had this to say about his nomination; "All i can say is thank you to all who voted and to my teammates as without them this wouldn't have been possible"
