Lancaster City 3-1 Radcliffe Borough match report
Lancaster City moved seven points clear at the top after a Connerton hat-trick saw them run out 3-1 winners against a spirited Boro.
Radcliffe went into the game on a high after their last minute win against Goole on the weekend and proved to be stubborn opponents earlier on for the league leaders.
The hosts eventually took the lead in the 37th minute as Connerton's deflected header from a corner narrowly beat O'Loughlan.
Following the break, Radcliffe equalised through debutant Yahya Saeed who struck home on the hour mark after sloppy play by Lancaster.
The league leaders re-took the lead just seven minutes later from the spot after Connerton was fouled in the box. The striker duly picked himself up to convert the spot-kick.
The victory was sealed just past the 80th minute as Connerton completed his hat trick as he rounded the keeper to tap home after a neat through ball.
The Boro's next match is at home this Saturday to Clitheroe in a preview of the upcoming Lancashire Cup semi-final! (KO 3pm) at Taurus Park.
