Radcliffe FC started the new year the way they mean to go on as they won 3-0 at home to Trafford FC.
It was Trafford who had the first chance of the game as Liam Ellis was played through on goal but his left footed effort was sliced well wide of Oliver Martin’s post.
Tunde Owolabi gave Radcliffe the lead almost immediately after as he managed to get in behind the Trafford defence before rounding the keeper and passing into the empty net.
Radcliffe were two nil up not long after when Tunde Owolabi got his second as he managed to beat the offside trap before slotting the ball calmly underneath the Trafford keeper.
Owolabi nearly completed his hat trick midway through the first half when he picked up the ball at the edge of the box and unleashed a thunderous shot from the edge of the box that cannoned back off of the crossbar.
Trafford tried to look for a reply but Jack Dorney could only hit his shot from the edge of the box along the floor and straight at Oliver Martin.
Tunde Owolabi completed his hat trick on the stroke of halftime when he headed in Scott Metcalfe’s corner from close range into the top corner.
Trafford had the first chance of the second half when they got a corner and the ball was delivered to the front post and a shot was glanced across the goal but Oliver Martin got a strong hand to it and collected it at the second time of asking.
Rick Smith almost added a fourth for Radcliffe when his shot from the edge of the box was spilt by the keeper and he scrambled back to keep the ball from going over the line.
